KISSPEPTIN-10 5 mg – general characteristics
KISSPEPTIN-10, also known as metastin, is a peptide discovered in the 1990s. Since then, its role in regulating the reproductive system has become the subject of intense research. The name “KISSPEPTIN” derives from the town of Hershey, Pennsylvania (United States), famous for the production of chocolates called “Hershey’s Kisses.”
Structure and specifics of the molecule
KISSPEPTIN is a ten-amino acid fragment of the larger KISSPEPTIN protein. It is a lower molecular weight variant than the full form, but this does not mean that it loses its biological significance. On the contrary, KISSPEPTIN-10 has relatively high activity and the ability to interact with GPR54 receptors (also known as the KiSS1R receptor).
KISSPEPTIN-10 role in the body
- Endocrine regulation
KISSPEPTIN-10 has an important function in the endocrine system – as it affects the secretion of gonadoliberin (GnRH) from the hypothalamus, which initiates the hormonal cascade associated with the functioning of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. - Effects on sexual maturation
Scientific studies indicate that KISSPEaPTIN-10 plys an important role in the process of sexual maturation by stimulating the pituitary gland to secrete gonadotropic hormones (LH, FSH), necessary for normal sexual development and subsequent reproductive functions. - Modulation of reproductive function
With its ability to stimulate GnRH release, KISSPEPTIN-10 has the potential to affect fertility and can be
Mechanisms of action of KISSPEPTIN-10 5 mg
Interaction with GPR54 receptors
The key to understanding KISSPEPTIN’s action is its high affinity for GPR54 receptors, located primarily in the hypothalamus, as well as in other brain structures. The binding of KISSPEPTIN to these receptors stimulates:
- An increase in the secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH): this in turn leads to increased production of luteinizing hormone (LH) and folliculotropic hormone (FSH) by the pituitary gland.
- Potential effects on libido and sexual function: by affecting the entire reproductive axis.
- Metabolic regulation: there are suggestions that KISSPEPTIN may also partially modulate metabolic pathways, although further studies are required.
Dosage of kisspeptin-10
Dose 50-100 mcg 2/3 times a week or every other day
Summary
KISSPEPTIN-10 5 mg is a fascinating substance with intensively studied properties. Its potential in regulating the reproductive system, its effects on sexual maturation, and its possible applications in the context of fertility support are attracting increasing interest in the scientific community. Although the studies available to date suggest promising possibilities for its use, extensive clinical work is still needed to fully understand the long-term effects and safety of KISSPEPTIN-10.
