Pre-workout amino acids are one of the most important pillars of supplementation among physically active people – regardless of the sports discipline they practice. Their main goal is to provide the body with the necessary ingredients that increase endurance, support muscle regeneration and improve training effectiveness. In this category you will find a variety of formulas with high absorption and carefully selected proportions that allow you to enhance the effects of your work at the gym, in a fitness club or during martial arts training. Thanks to them, you will easily get closer to your dream figure, higher strength or better physical condition, achieving results that will leave other sites far behind.

Principles of action of pre-workout amino acids

Amino acids, which are the basic building blocks of proteins, are responsible for repair processes in muscle tissue, regulation of enzymes and proper functioning of many systems in the body. Pre-workout supplements usually contain a mixture of branched-chain amino acids (BCAA), EAA (Essential Amino Acids), and often additional supporting substances such as beta-alanine, citrulline, arginine, or tyrosine. Thanks to this complex of ingredients, the athlete’s body gains clear benefits, including:

  1. Better endurance – intensive workouts require increased muscle capacity; branched-chain amino acids combined with other ingredients allow you to extend the duration of your workouts.
  2. More effective regeneration – supporting muscle repair processes means your body regenerates faster after exercise and is ready for the next training sessions.
  3. Increased concentration – some pre-workout formulas are enriched with ingredients such as caffeine, guarana extract or tyrosine, which stimulate the nervous system and improve focus during training.

Benefits for physically active people

Physically active people who practice strength, endurance and mixed sports value pre-workout amino acids for theirwide spectrum of action. In everyday workouts, when maintaining high intensity is key, pre-workout amino acids help:

  • Reduce signs of fatigue – by supporting energy processes and maintaining a high level of ATP (the main “fuel” of muscle cells).
  • Maintain a positive nitrogen balance – essential for the development of muscle tissue.
  • Improve mood and motivation – when energy and focus levels are high, training becomes more enjoyable and the effects are noticeable in a shorter time.

What pre-workout amino acids do we distinguish?

1. BCAA (branched-chain amino acids)

  • Leucine, isoleucine and valine – these three amino acids play a key role in the process of muscle protein synthesis. Leucine is responsible for the activation of anabolic pathways (mTOR), and together with the remaining amino acids protects muscles from catabolism and supports regeneration.

2. L-Carnitine

  • L-carnitine is a naturally occurring chemical compound in the body, synthesized from amino acids lysine and methionine. The main function of this substance is to transport fatty acids to mitochondria, the cellular “power plants”, where they are oxidized and converted into energy.

3. Carnosine

  • This is an amino acid that delays the onset of fatigue. Beta-alanine allows you to maintain exercise intensity for a longer period of time and increases anaerobic capacity.

4. Citrulline and arginine

  • Citrulline and arginine are involved in the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), which is responsible for the expansion of blood vessels. This translates into better oxygenation and nourishment of the muscles, the so-called “pump effect”, which in turn can translate into greater strength and faster regeneration.

5. Tyrosine

  • Tyrosine can support the functioning of the nervous system and contribute to maintaining a high level of concentration during training. That’s why it often appears in pre-workout amino acids, so that the athlete can fully focus on their workout plan.

Why is it worth using pre-workout amino acids?

  1. Effective support for building muscle mass – providing the right amount of amino acids before exercise increases the body’s anabolic potential.
  2. Protection of muscles against catabolism – during intense exercise, energy reserves are used up, which exposes muscles to breakdown. Amino acids block this process, supporting regeneration.
  3. Support for performance – better blood supply and oxygenation of muscles means that we can maintain a high level of intensity for longer, and the decline in power is less noticeable.
  4. Improvement of well-being – some formulas enriched with ingredients stimulating the nervous system help maintain motivation and a positive attitude to training.
